Dad's Tale: Programme
This page contains a reproduction of the original programme for the world premiere of Alan Ayckbourn's third play, Dad's Tale, at the Library Theatre, Scarborough, in 1960.Notes
○ Dad's Tale is quite obviously written for when Alan Ayckbourn was still primarily an actor as the eight roles mentioned in the programme shows!○ The programme note by Stephen Joseph is an excellent introduction to his aims and purposes for the Library Theatre, Scarborough - whilst also taking a dig at the London newspapers which were not covering the venue.
○ Like all Library Theatre productions of this period, Dad's Tale was performed without an interval.
